Michael Miller Yu

Creative Director, Visual Artist

Michael Miller Yu, was born in China, Guangdong Province. Michael spent his childhood in Macau and
came to Hong Kong in 1965. In 1973, he graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic in Industrial Design.


Since graduating, Michael had been working as an architect assistant at Wong & Ouyeung & Associates, interior designer, graphic designer and advertising creative director at worldwide agencies. Later on he established his own design company CreationHouse.


Michael has won over two hundred local and overseas design awards and was awarded the Governor's Industrial Design Award twice. In 1992, Michael was appointed to design the brand for the renowned Bangkok Sky Train BTS. In 2000 Michael was appointed by HongKong Post to design the official 2000 Sydney Olympic Commemorative Stamps. Again In 2005, Michael was appointed by the Hong Kong Government to design the logo for the 6th WTO Ministerial Conference held in Hong Kong.


In 2006, Michael received the Ten Outstanding Designers Awards from the renowned Hong Kong Art & Design Festival. In 2007, 2008, 2009 & 2010, three of his major projects have won the Outstanding Greater China Design Awards. Michael is the current Chairman of Hong Kong Outstanding Designers Association 2012-2016.
